The latest chapter in the Hornets’ saga commenced with yet another sweep, as it knocked off Henninger 7-0 on Tuesday afternoon. Olivia Calancie worked in singles, beating Eva Bouchard 6-1, 6-0, while Sienna Susko and Meg Muraco each won 6-0, 6-0 matches over, respectively, Jocelyn Copes and Nicky Sereluca. In the closest doubles contest, Alison Mitchell and Laura Thompson had a 6-2, 6-1 win over Lachelle Brown and Alyssa Merriam. The teams of Carly Romano-Allison Vizgaitis, Rhiannon Iorio-Katie Muller, Kara Goldberg-Caitlin Welker and Allison Mitchell-Laura Thompson each won without dropping a game. On the same day, Jamesville-DeWitt won again, toppling Homer 6-1. The Red Rams swept all four doubles matches, Lauren Swan and Nina Williams needing three sets to get past Danielle Howell and Samantha Peckham 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. Elena Marchetti-Boweick and Hannah Stelf topped Molly Gray and Katie Sinclair 7-6, 6-4 as the teams of Katie Cieplicki-Ash Masrani and Samantha Harrington-Mary Miller also won in two sets. Up in singles, Kyrin Pollock beat Sarah Dart 6-2, 6-1 and Rea Puka earned a 6-2, 6-2 sweep of Lizzy Kniffin. Amanda Lee lost in three sets to Laura Dart 6-7, 6-0, 6-4. J-D struck again Wednesday, beating Manlius-Pebble Hill 5-2 despite singles victories by the Trojans’ Alex Verbeck and Emily Barclay. Verbeck won a 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 match over Natalie Antosh, though the Rams’ Kyrin Pollock retaliated by beating Cara Adelson. J-D swept every doubles match in straight sets. East Syracuse-Minoa took a 6-1 loss to Mexico, getting its lone point when Samantha Lobello topped Emily Passer 7-5, 6-4. Caitlin Underwood lost in three sets to Molly Freihofer 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 as, in doubles, Anisa and Adisa Husejnovic fell to Alexis Giovo and Jacquelyn McGuire 4-6, 7-5, 6-4. The Spartans also lost to West Genesee 6-1 in a non-league match where Lobello had to rally past Alexa Rahrle 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 for the lone point. In doubles, Carly Eaton and Jacqueline Mosher had a 6-1, 6-7, 10-6 defeat to Theresa Clark and Danielle Fofi. Bishop Grimes rolled out on Wednesday with a 6-0 sweep of Pulaski. Amelia Heiselman, better known for her work on the basketball court, led the singles charge for the Cobras, beating Kathy Brown 6-1, 6-1 as Erannan Shattuck topped Kristina Gilbert 6-3, 6-3 and Kathleen Ecal earned a 6-4, 7-6 win over Kalina Sutton. Michelle Godlewski and Mackenzie Thomson won in doubles over Valerie Granger and Sam Keeney 6-2, 6-2, as the teams of Maria King-Alexis Kuberkski and Gisella Barletta-Caroline Benbenek also prevailed.
