About Us

Welcome to Eagle News

At Eagle News, our mission is simple: to provide our readers with the most compelling, current and local content and to offer our advertisers a cost-effective means of communicating with their customers. Eagle’s 25 employees focus on fulfilling this mission through our six weekly newspapers, as well as our PennySaver, websites and magazines. Our award-winning journalists live by the motto, “If it’s local, it’s news!”

Each week, Eagle produces the Cazenovia Republican, Eagle Bulletin, Baldwinsville Messenger, Eagle Observer, Eagle Star-Review and the Skaneateles Press. Our newspapers, which are requested by our subscribers, are an invited guest in more than 30,000 homes each week, and combined with Syracuse Parent, Prime, the PennySaver and Syracuse Woman Magazine, our printed publications are read by more than 100,000 people each month.

In addition to our newspapers, web sites and niche publications, Eagle has a full-service design and commercial printing department, allowing us to produce marketing materials, fliers, business cards, brochures, menus, newsprint publications and much more. Our goal is to produce compelling work at an affordable price, and many of our clients have been with us for decades.

To pinpoint a date for the inception of Eagle News is impossible. Some of our publications have been ingrained in the communities they serve for more than 200 years, while others were launched as recently as 2014. Our company, in its present form, was created in October 2009 when Community Media Group, LLC purchased Eagle Newspapers in the greater Syracuse market, and Spotlight Newspapers in the Capital District region.

The company and its staff are deeply rooted in Central New York, and our employees actively participate in service organizations, chambers of commerce, charitable groups and community events. We’re proud of this involvement, and feel that the quality and commitment of our staff is the driving force behind the success of our company. As publisher, I can truly say I work with some of the most intelligent and dedicated professionals in this industry. They make me proud to be associated with this company.

Feedback from our readers and advertisers, either positive or critical, makes our newspapers and publications stronger. Please use the feedback form on this page, or if it is more convenient, I’d like to invite our readers and advertisers to contact me at (315) 434-8889 ext. 302, by email at dtyler@eaglenewsonline.com, or in person at 2501 James St., Suite 100, Syracuse, NY 13206. I’d be more than happy to make your acquaintance.

Sincerely,

Dave Tyler, Publisher
