If it came down to depth, the Fayetteville-Manlius girls swim team was not going to be victorious in last Tuesday’s meet at West Genesee. However, the Hornets used its star power to subdue the Wildcats, 94-90, unleashing Ashley Twichell to set two records at WG’s pool. First, Twichell blasted through the 200 freestyle in 1:58.28, setting one pool mark. Later on, she swam the 500 freestyle in a time of 5:10.86 to add her name to the record board a second time. As a final flourish, Ashley joined Laura Twichell, Ally Anderson and Kaitlin Wilcoxen to swim the 200 freestyle relay in a top time of 1:47.61. On her own, Laura Twichell gained two victories of her own, dominating the 50 freestyle (26.57 seconds) before taking first place in the 100 butterfly in 1:04.05. Anderson took the 200 individual medley in 2:22.86. For the Wildcats, Jenn Gabris had 250.30 points in diving, the best score in Section III this fall.
