At Canton Woods, the Neighborhood Advisor Program and the B’ville Express Transportation Program are funded by the Onondaga County Office for Aging (Adult and Long Term Care Services).
SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). Tracey Clark Nutrition Outreach and Education Program Coordinator from the Food Bank of Central New York, will visit Canton Woods on Friday Oct. 13. She will present on the SNAP program and assist anyone who is has questions or concerns about their SNAP benefit.

Emergency Preparedness Presentation will be held at 3 p.m. Monday Oct. 23 at Canton Woods. This is a free training course which provides an introduction to responding to a natural or manmade disaster. The course instructor is Staff Sargent Duane Morgan. Please call the center if you plan to attend.
Look forward to more music at Canton Woods in October. Bare Bones will entertain at 3 p.m. Oct. 26. This performance is brought to Canton Woods through cooperation with the Baldwinsville Public Library. Bare Bones is “a trombone quartet playing everything from Bach to Basie in an audience-friendly manner.”
Art Group will meet at Canton Woods 2 p.m. on Tuesdays, Oct. 10 and 24. This group is facilitated by retired B’ville art teacher, Mike Conway. The group focuses on drawing and painting. Bring your sketchbook and art supplies.
Canton Woods Book Club will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17. They will be discussing “Little Fires Everywhere,” by Celeste Ng. Get reading and join the lively discussion.
Active Older Adult Exercise lead by a Y instructor has resumed for the fall season. This class is every Tuesday and Thursday. There is a fee for this class payable to the instructor.
Falls Prevention Class returns to Canton Woods after the fall break. This is a free class taught by a licensed physical therapist. Class is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday.
Senior Nutrition. You can enjoy lunch at the center. Canton Woods is a senior nutrition lunch site on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Make a reservation at (315) 638-4536 and stop by at noon for lunch. The nutrition program is open to anyone 60 years of age and older. Suggested donation is $3.
Wondering what’s for lunch? On Friday, Oct. 13, the menu includes Syracuse’s Famous Chicken Riggies, greens and beans, juicy diced peaches with fresh baked garlic bread stick. Make a reservation and join us for lunch!
