The village of Camillus held a special meeting Sunday to appoint and swear in two people to the board. New Mayor Patricia Butler called the meeting in order to appoint Sharon Norcross to the position of village clerk and treasurer. Norcross previously held the position before Marie Stanczyk was appointed in April 2007. Norcross, who has been working as the Phoenix village clerk, will now replace Stanczyk. Butler said the reason behind the switch was for “organizational” purposes. Butler also accepted the resignation of Anthony Komuda Jr., who won the seat as a village trustee in the November election. Komuda resigned from the position Dec. 23 and former interim mayor Bridget Yule has been appointed to fill a one-year term. She will also serve as deputy mayor. Other changes on the board, effective today, include the appointment of Robert Allan as village attorney. The Post-Standard and the Eagle Observer are the official village newspapers. The special meeting, which lasted an hour, is a prelude to the first official meeting to be held 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12. From there, board meetings will be held the first and third Monday of each month, starting Feb. 6. In other board news
