Two standouts on the Cicero-North Syracuse softball team are on their way to the NCAA Division I ranks. In a signing ceremony last Wednesday at the CNS High School cafeteria, Sydney Harbaugh and Britttany Paul signed their college letters of intent. Harbaugh is headed to Binghamton University, while Paul is going to Lafayette Univeristy in Easton, Pa. Harbaugh has played on the CNS varsity softball team since eighth grade. Starting at second base and serving as the team’s leadoff hitter, she has led the Northstars to three state Class AA final four appearances and two trips to the state finals. Individually, Harbaugh was a 2010 All-Central New York first-team selection and maintains a 94 grade average. Paul, like Harbaugh, began with the CNS softball varsity in eighth grade, settling into a starting spot at first base and the no. 3 spot in the order and has also been part of all three of the Northstars’ state final four teams while garnering All-CNY honors in 2010. Additionally, Paul was the starting shooting guard on the 2010-11 CNS girls basketball team that won the state Class AA championship. She maintains a 98 grade average.
