CNS also lost Friday to Auburn, 6-1, only earning a point when Brousseau and Francatti overcame an early deficit to beat Jessica Bolak and Kaitlin Hilywa 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. The Maroons won every other match in straight ets. Earlier in the week, Liverpool took its own 6-1 defeat to Auburn, only getting a point when, in doubles, Sara Noll and Alexandra Reilly edged past Jessica Bolak and Kaitlin Hlywa 6-2, 5-7, 7-5. The Maroons swept all the singles matches in two sets. Erna Abadzic and Melissa Inch had a 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 defeat to Jenna Bruno and Heidi VanBuskirk. Hannah Foster and Sally Johnson also went to three sets, and also took a loss, falling to Kayla Schoonmaker and Julia Wagner 6-3, 3-6, 6-4. By that same 6-1 margin, the Warriors also fell to long-time power Fayetteville-Manlius.
It was Kristina Monahkova preventing the shutout in first singles, coming from behind to beat Meghan Muraco 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, but the Hornets won every other match in straight sets. Monica and Sally Johnson fell to Allison Donella and Katie Roche 6-0, 6-4.
