Though it took two days, the Jamesville-DeWitt girls track and field team persevered to earn the Section III Class A championship. In that Class A meet at East Syracuse-Minoa, which started Thursday but ended Friday due to weather delays, the Red Rams earned 107 points, well clear of Phoenix (72 points) in second place as the host Spartans tied for eighth in the 16-team field with 34 points. J-D’s only wins came in relays. In the 4×800, Rebecca Doss, Hannah Stefl, Ameena Dye and Paige Morrow finished in 10:10.88, nearly five seconds ahead of runner-up Vernon-Verona-Sherrill.
