Taking each of the 10 matches from 96 to 152 pounds, the CBA/Jamesville-DeWitt wrestling team had an easy time in Wednesday night’s meet against East Syracuse-Minoa, beating the Spartans 60-15. Though ESM had to forfeit four of those matches to Arsen Bagiryan (103 pounds), Max Havens (112 pounds), J.T. Romagnoli (130 pounds), Ben Honis (135 pounds), the other six were contested. In just 31 seconds, Aaron Benedict (145 pounds) pinned Frank Kulas, while Mark Fiske (152 pounds) accumulated enough points for a technical fall over Conner Webb. All of the decisions were close ones. Brad Carr, in an exciting 119-pound match, edged past Jeremy Murphy 14-13, with Dan Meile (140 pounds) beating Stephen Loder 5-3. Matt Lauro (125 pounds) had a 4-2 decision over Kyle Parella as Dylan Letcher, at 96 pounds, toppled Colton Webb 6-2. Also for CBA/J-D, Paul D’Antonio won his 171-pound match by pinning Rich Osborne midway through the second period, while Corey Plumleg (285 pounds) claimed a forfeit. ESM did have some bright moments, as Alex Seamans, at 160 pounds, pinned Justin Koslowski 17 seconds into the second period. Jon Britton (215 pounds) got a technical fall over Zach Shapiro and Cody Loope, at 189 pounds, held off Brad VanPatten 5-4. As this went on, Fayetteville-Manlius went to Auburn and won in similarly impressive fashion, dismissing the Maroons 62-18. This included the Hornets earning nine pins, three of them in less than a minute. Augie Pavone, at 171, took a mere 15 seconds to finish off Bob Reynolds, while C.J. Siciliano (135) got a 48-second fall over Noah Christianelli and Sam Wells, at 285, got his pin over Mike Carbonaro in 49 seconds. Tom Quinlan, at 140, took a bit longer, but pinned Jack Hensel in 1:23 as Jake Norton (119), Josh Scalzetti (125) and Ryan Kiggins (152) all had second-period falls, Kiggins over Brad Cuddy in 2:22. At 112, Pat Quinlan earned his pin over Dustin Swan 30 seconds into the third period, while Jon Hajduk, in the only match to go the full six minutes, beat 145-pound opponent Tom Campagnola 5-2. Eric Mohr, at 103, earned a forfeit.
