Back in action Thursday night, the Baldwinsville boys volleyball team swept the Fowler Falcons by scores of 25-7, 25-13 and 25-10. Splitting the front-line duties, Dan Dubiel had eight kills, while Kyle Lattanzio gained seven kills and Jarret Reaume earned six kills. Ryan Shelton had 15 assists and five aces as Ryan Zbikowski contributed four aces and Dubiel got four assists. B’ville then split a pair of weekend matches, falling to Rochester McQuaid 25-16, 26-24, 25-14, but beating Midlakes in four games. In the latter contest, the Bees won the opener 25-22, lost the second game 25-21, then survived a long third game 30-28 and closed out the match 25-20 in the fourth game. Shelton had 26 assists against Midlakes, as Chris Thayer got 12 kills. Dubiel (seven kills), Lattanzio (five kills) and Reaume (six blocks) also had an impact on the back line as Zack Racha gained four blocks and three kills. B’ville’s boys team meets Oswego and Horseheads this week as the regular season nears its conclusion.
