The Skaneateles Library’s fundraiser “One For The Books,” wrapped up Saturday night in the Library with coffee and desserts, by all accounts a rousing success. A collaborative effort by gracious hosts, interesting speakers, generous guests and sponsors made this novel event one which will be repeated next year. Sheila and Randy Powers, Jim and Sharon Cirincione, Cate and Jeff Davis, Jean and Dave Graham, Dick and Lynne Bennett along with Bill Eberhardt, Tom and Gretchen Jeffers, Susan and Stephen Meyer, Georgina and Doug Pinckney and Walter Benson were welcoming and inviting hosts for the event. They were game! Our celebs and speakers kept all on the edge of their seats with interesting points of discussion. Many thanks to Donna Woolfolk Cross, Thom Filicia, Martin Sweeney, David Quinlan, Merby and Lou Lego of Elderberry Pond, Bill Eberhardt, Chris Kuhns and Mike Tutor of The Sherwood Inn, Colonel Richard Findlay, Jennifer Haines from Seward House, Dr. Donald Blake and Mike Connor. All shared their knowledge and intensity freely. We must also thank our guests who took a chance on a new and unique social function for the sake of the library as well as our corporate sponsors: Anyela’s Vineyard, Delmonico Insurance, Kinney Drugs and M&T Bank. Local assistance includes Elderberry Pond, The Sherwood Inn, Creekside Books and Coffee and Rosalie’s Cucina. Pinckney Hugo’s creative and capable support is greatly appreciated. Lastly, without the determined dedication of Dick Bennett, the president of the library board and the patriarch and creator of this event, it would not have taken off. Thank you all and if we didn’t get a chance to meet this time, we hope to see you at next year’s “One For The Books.”
