Not only has the Geddes Town Board resolved to “take whatever action is necessary” to eliminate the existing County Legislature and County Executive positions, the board hopes other Onondaga County towns and villages will join their fight. Geddes Supervisor Manny Falcone said the board did not feel the town was represented well by its legislator following the sales tax sharing agreement revision. Geddes is in the 8th district, represented by Legislator Jim Corbett. “We don’t feel they are mishandling our money, but we can do it better,” Falcone said. The board voted 5-2 Tuesday May 11 to approve a resolution calling for consolidation of the county government by reverting to the previous system of the Board of Supervisors. Falcone said Geddes’ decision would be a topic of discussion at the next Supervisors Association meeting.
