The Town of Cazenovia recently adopted the Draft Environmental Impact Statement detailing the proposed application of triclopyr (trade name Renovate) to Cazenovia Lake for the second summer. This summer’s application will focus eradicating Eurasian milfoil in central and southern portions of the lake. The statement is available online at townofcazenovia.org, and copies are available at the Cazenovia and New Woodstock libraries. The town is accepting public comment until April 10, when that information will be incorporated into the final Environmental Impact Statement. Detailed maps have been uploaded of the exact planned treatment sites in Appendix A at the Town of Cazenovia Web site. The board is hoping to do the application in May in possible, but won’t know the exact timing until the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation approves the permit. Related links
