Another week — and another post-season accolade for the Jamesville-DeWitt boys indoor track and field team to pick up. The Red Rams smothered the rest of the competition at Wednesday night’s OHSL Freedom division championship meet, picking up 140 points, the most of any team in any of the four league meets. Chittenango, with 66 points, was far back in second place. East Syracuse-Minoa earned 29 points. David Salbert won both the long jump (20 feet 5 inches) and triple jump, where he went 45 feet, the best leap of the entire night, ahead of teammate Tim Kendrick (37 feet 1 1/2 inches) in second place. Robert Carter was fifth in the long jump. Kyree Adams won the shot put with a toss of 44 feet 1 1/2 inches as Matt Spalding (41 feet 1/4 inches) completed a 1-2 sweep on J-D’s part. Christian Quetell cleared a height of 8 feet 6 inches and won the pole vault, giving J-D 58 total points in just the field events. Bumkuth Jiak led the domination on the oval by, among other things, helping Kendrick, Austin Davis and Will Hohreiter prevail in the 4×800 relay in 8:52.39. On his own, Jiak won the 600-meter run in 1:23.92 and also was first in the 1,000-meter run in 2:38.51.
