No one in the Skaneateles girls volleyball team’s recent slate was going to put a dent into the Lakers’ undefeated mark. The Lakers went to Hannibal last Tuesday night and spent little time on the court in a 25-9, 25-10, 25-20 sweep of the Warriors. Gabby Eckles, who had 11 assists, backed it up with eight aces. Ryan Merle had six kills, while Katherine Hill had six aces and two kills. Destin VanTyle had four assists and Emily Wood produced three kills. Two nights later, Skaneateles was back home, facing Jordan-Elbridge, and did much the same thing as it beat the Eagles 25-10, 25-18, 25-10 in its last regular-season home match of the season. VanTyle finished with 10 assists and Eckles earned eight assists, plus four aces. On the front line, Wood led with six kills and two blocks, while Hill gained five kills and four aces. Merle and Alexa Campanile produced four kills apiece. All through the last two weeks of the regular season, Skaneateles (13-0) will be on the road, including this week’s visits to Solvay and Phoenix.
