In a head-to-head showdown Wednesday night, Hamilton’s girls volleyball team met Morrisville-Eaton and took four games to beat the Warriors. The Emerald Knights dominated the first two games, 25-13 and 25-11. M-E did rise up and win the third game 25-22, but Hamilton inserted its starters again and cruised through the fourth game 25-10. Again leading the way for the Emerald Knights, Tiffany Jones-Maxwell had 23 kills and nine digs. Morgan Brooks had six kills and six digs, while Kaitlyn Askew put together 15 assists, three aces and two digs. On M-E’s side, Rachel Morris had 11 assists and eight digs, with Ashley Kincaid also earning eight digs. Samantha Conklin contributed 11 digs as Gabby Lake earned five kills and two aces. A night earlier, Hamilton beat New York Mills. Victorious 25-19 in the first game, the Emerald Knights lost to the Marauders 25-13 in the second game, but it reclaimed control in the third game 25-16, then closed out the match 25-20 in the fourth game. Jones-Maxwell had 17 kills, 11 digs, three blocks and two aces, while Rachel Holcomb had seven aces, six digs and four assists. Askew picked up 11 assists and three digs as Alisa Babcock contributed four kills and three digs. As that was going on, M-E lost to Cooperstown 25-18, 25-16, 26-24, nearly extending the match, but unable to do so. Stephanie Davis had six kills and six digs, with Danielle LeBlanc earning nine assists and Morris producing five assists and seven digs.
