Once a mail boat captain in Skaneateles, Michael Ciabotti has returned to Central New York from Sanibel Island, Fla., with a new career. Ciabotti is the owner and general manager of a Cheeburger Cheeburger franchise in Camillus, located at Kasson Road and West Genesee Street across from the P&C. “It was difficult to leave Florida, but I am really excited to be back and running my own store,” Ciabotti said. “The Camillus area needed some new restaurants and we are here and focused on serving a great product with excellent service. Stop in and ask for Mike and we’ll go out of our way to take care of you.” Ciabotti left Skaneateles three years ago to work at the flagship Cheebuger Cheeburger restaurant in Sanibel where he learned all aspects of running a restaurant. One of his main duties was to travel around the country to help new franchise owners set up and train staff prior to opening a new Cheeburger Cheeburger. He even went to Kuwait to help open the first international restaurant.
As their menu states, “Welcome to the most creative and fun restaurant on earth.”
Not only do they serve a variety of cheeseburgers, they have chicken breast, turkey burger and Portobello mushroom sandwiches along with wraps, salads, fries and rings. But if one is after a milkshake, the menu invites you to invent your own shake from a total of 378,000 combinations. A footnote on the menu says “there are no hamburgers on the menu, however the cooks have been known to fix a Cheeburger without the cheese, if that is what you really want.”
