Baldwinsville served as the host on Wednesday afternoon as both the boys and girls CNY Counties League National division championship meets took place. As expected, the boys Bees contended for top honors with Liverpool. In the final tally, B’ville, with 38 points, finished second as the Warriors won with 31 points, mirroring their regular-season duel on Oct. 7 on that same course. Shaun Thompson pushed Liverpool’s Colin Savage all the way to the finish line. Thompson finished in 15 minutes, 39.81 seconds, second to Savage, who won in 15:36.68. Behind them, Nate McCabe claimed fourth place in 15:45.71, but Liverpool claimed four of the next five spots head-to-head in between Adam Pacheck’s seventh-place clocking of 16:03.34. Chris Wicks was 11th, in 16:14.08, as Connor Martin took 14th place (16:18.96) to round out the scoring. Ethan Pacheck was 20th (16:41.05), with Pat Colligan 27th in 16:57.18. As for the CNYCL National girls meet, B’ville had to settle for third place with 62 points. Liverpool won here, too, with 28 points, holding off Cicero-North Syracuse (36 points) for that title. Kristen Biedermann led the Bees’ effort, claiming seventh place in 19:38.8 as CNS freshman Nicole Watterud (17:55.9) took top individual honors, with Liverpool claiming four of the five spots in between.
