Continuing to inch toward another undefeated regular season, the Fayetteville-Manlius girls swim team ended the same plans of Auburn Monday night, beating the Maroons 103-80 at the Nottingham High school pool. Both Melissa James and Hadley Cameron-Carter earned two victories. James beat the field in the 200 individual medley (2:23.15) and also swam the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.07. Meanwhile, Cameron-Carter earned a time of 56.63 seconds in the 100 freestyle, later winning the 100 backstroke in 1:04.51. She also took part in both of the winning relays, helping James, Alex Murphy and Delaney Pfohl in the 200 medley relay (1:58.23) and, with James, Murphy and Amy Bright, winning the 200 freestyle relay in 1:47.43. Bright continued to dominate on the diving board, earning 203.60 points, while Murphy gained her own title in the 50 freestyle in 27.03 seconds. Jiechen Chen stepped up, too, as she won the 100 butterfly in 1:10.03.
