In separate meets on Wednesday night, the Fayetteville-Manlius and Christian Brothers Academy girls swim teams continued to tear through the opposition. For the Hornets, beating Nottingham 99-79 at the pool they share was its 20th consecutive meet win. The Brothers also stayed unbeaten by holding off Manlius-Pebble Hill 91-84. F-M star Melissa James helped Delaney Pfohl, Hadley Cameron-Carter and Alex Murphy swim the 200 medley relay in 2:01.57 to open the meet. Right after that, James won the 100 freestyle in 58.87 seconds, as Pfohl took the 200 freestyle in 2:15.66. Helena Chiles (200 individual medley, 2:40.45) and Cathleen Trespasz (50 freestyle, 28.40 seconds) also prevailed. Amy Bright not only won the diving event with 215.65 points, she teamed with James, Murphy and Katie Pechacek to post a time of 1:50.24 in the 200 freestyle relay. CBA also had a star on the diving board with Emily Wanamaker, who accumulated 209.20 points at the LeMoyne College pool. Courtney Finkbeiner emerged to win twice, taking the 200 freestyle (2:12.45) and 500 freestyle (5:47.95) before she was done. Elsewhere, Summer Schmitt tore through the 100 backstroke in 1:01.54, one of the fastest Section III times of the season, as Kathryn Coughlin won the 100 butterfly in 1:04.96. Wins also went to Honor Bowman (200 IM, 2:39.45), Lexy McCauley (50 freestyle, 27.51 seconds) and Elizabeth Catalano (100 freestyle, 1:00.68). To start the meet, Catalano, McCauley, Michele Damico and Cara Peters swam the 200 medley relay in 2:03.50.
