In October, Solvay High School art students began developing designs for a new shoulder patch for the Solvay Police Department. The project put the focus on the students’ own community while allowing them to experience working for a client with specific needs and providing the local law enforcement with an updated patch. The top three designs were selected and now it is up to the public to decided which design will be chosen for production. At right, see the top three designs, then head to the recently revamped SPD Web site, solvaypd.com, to vote for your favorite. Click on the “Take our patch poll” icon on the home page to vote or to see how many votes each patch has so far. More than 250 votes have been cast.
