If the Skaneateles boys golf team ever felt extra pressure from sweeping through the regular season in advance of Monday’s Section III Class B-2 tournament, it did a good job hiding it. For when the top teams gathered at Oneida Community Golf Course, the Lakers ran far away and won its third consecutive sectional title. Skaneateles, who has won 54 league matches in a row, posted a team score of 406. Clinton, in second place (446), was a full 39 shots behind, as Marcellus (455) took third place. Jeff Baldetti ignored his own flu-like symptoms and, over 18 holes, shot a 75 for the individual title. Eric Edmunds and Ty Lorey tied for second, each shooting 78. The trio advanced to play in Thursday’s state qualifier at Colgate University’s Seven Oaks Course in Hamilton, hoping to make it to the May 28-June 1 state finals at Cornell University.
