Aiming to finish the regular season at the .500 mark, the Liverpool girls lacrosse team took a step toward that point in last Monday’s game at Central Square, rolling past the Red Hawks by a score of 16-6. Coming off a 19-10 loss to Carthage on May 15, the Warriors did not let this happen here, dominating Central Square in the first half and zooming to a 10-2 lead. Liverpool kept answering the Red Hawks in the second half, too, as Jennifer VanderMeulen earned five goals and Kathleen Conese added four goals. Marybeth Madia found the net twice, adding an assist as Nina Tassone, Alison Flood, Anna Daucher and Dakotah Forell each had one goal and one assist. Morgan Beaty also scored. Kristen Zylka and Kristina Lombard earned assists, too. Mikey Meagher earned 12 saves. Liverpool must win Friday’s game against Auburn to hit that .500 mark.
