Without allowing for much doubt, both of Jamesville-DeWitt’s track and field teams finished off undefeated runs to their respective OHSL Freedom division regular-season titles. East Syracuse-Minoa and Chittenango were around for the coronation, as the Red Rams swept past the Spartans and Bears last Tuesday afternoon. J-D topped ESM 95-42 in the boys meet, holding off Chittenango 93-47 as Bumkoth Jiak and David Salbert each won two events. He also teamed with Zaid Jinadu, Jaquan Williams and Anthony Ligugil to win the 4×100 relay in 45.7 seconds. The girls meet proved more lopsided on both fronts, as J-D crushed both ESM (118-23) and Chittenango (108-33), while the Spartans also lost to the Bears 85-56. Courtney Ellis won both the 100-meter high hurdles (18.1 seconds) and 400 hurdles (1:14.5), while Marae Tearney took the 100-meter dash, edging Chittenango’s Courtney Dyer (both finished in 13.0 seconds) and unleashing a top long jump of 14 feet 5 3/4 inches.
