Having blazed through the early part of its schedule, the Jamesville-DeWitt girls lacrosse team kept on going. When the Red Rams went to Whitesboro last Tuesday night, little went astray as it pounded past the Warriors 21-3. J-D accumulated 14 of those goals in the first half alone, spreading it around. Ashriel West had five goals and three assists, with Kate Byrnes accumulating three goals and five assists and Tori Nies also scoring three times. Meredith Howe got two goals and three assists, with Emily Elbers and Taylor Bierwagen also producing two goals. Ashley Thompson, Lauren Swan, Claire Kopp and Alex Freeman earned one goal apiece. Liz Beville had two assists as Katie Heil and Morgan Freeman also got assists. The Red Rams’ eighth consecutive win quickly followed on Thursday afternoon as it toyed with Chittenango in a 19-6 victory over the Bears. Here, J-D maintained a steady and relentless pace throughout the contest, leading 10-3 by halftime as four different players earned hat tricks. Byrnes piled up five goals and two assists. West, Nies and Emily Johnosn each had three goals, with West adding four assists. Howe (two goals, one assist) and Molly Maroney (one goal, two assists) both had three points, as did Beville with three assists. Elbers and Kopp landed single goals. J-D could get a test Tuesday when it hosts East Syracuse-Minoa, and Cortland pays a visit on Thursday afternoon.
