Both of Jamesville-DeWitt’s track and field teams handled the cold conditions of last Wednesday’s meet with Fowler in a calm way and won with ease — the boys prevailing 110-24, the girls Red Rams beating the Falcons 122-19. Among the double winners on the boys side, David Salbert ran to first in the 100-meter dash (11.3 seconds) and also had a top triple jump of 40 feet 8 inches. Salbert also helped Tim Kendrick, Tyler Petersen and Alex Wilmot win the 4×400 relay in 3:41.5. In distance running, Bumkuth Jiak took the 800-meter run in 2:02.7 after running the mile in 4:41, while Ben Kier prevailed at 3,200 meters in 11:03.4. Kendrick returned to help Max Smith, John Lenish and Austin Davis claim the 4×800 relay in a clocking of 9:15. And in field events, Mychal Weekes followed up a win in the discus (112 feet 8 inches) by clearing 5 feet 2 inches in the high jump. Ira Griffin took the 200-meter dash (22.4 seconds) as Michael Paul won the shot put with a toss of 42 feet 3 inches and Curtis Walker flew 19 feet in the long jump. J-D’s girls team saw Eileen Cody run to wins in the 800 (2:34.1) and 1,500 (5:24) meter runs. Aeena Dye prevailed at 3,000 meters (11:50.9) after teaming with Grace Bradshaw, Paige Morrow and Bridget O’Grady to win the 4×800 relay in 11:06.1. Natalie Mannion earned two wins, going from the long jump (15 feet 1 1/2 inches) to running the 200-meter dash in 28.1 seconds. Bradshaw also would win twice, in the 400-meter dash (1:05) and triple jump, where she went 30 feet 5 1/2 inches. Elsewhere, Maggie Fuller took the high jump (4 feet 8 inches) and Marissa Colavecchio cleared 8 feet 6 inches in the pole vault. Brianna Young won the discus (83 feet 1 1/2 inches), while Courtney Ellis took the 400 hurdles (1:18.4) and Marae Tearney ran the 100-meter dash in 12.8 seconds. In the 4×100 relay, Tearney, Mannion, Amanda Tan and Linsay Royer posted a top time of 52.7 seconds, with Royer and Mannion returning later to help Liz Pieri and Katy Pieri run the 4×400 relay in 4:26.5.
