Strong in sprints, distances and field events, the Baldwinsville boys track and field team dominated last Tuesday’s meet at West Genesee, beating the Wildcats 98-43. Sean Bernstein took three individual titles. He won the 100-meter dash (11.0 seconds), edged WG’s Zac Karpinski in the 200-meter dash (22.4 seconds, to Karpinski’s 22.5) and tied teammate Brian Kane in the high jump, each clearing 6 feet 2 inches. Tim Chambers, who won the 800-meter run in 2:06.2, combined with Adam Pacheck as they helped B’ville take the 4×800 relay in 8:35.6. On his own, Pacheck won the 3,200-meter run (10:20.6) as Shaun Thompson took the mile in 4:38.8. Bernstein helped the Bees win the 4×100 relay in 44.9 seconds as it also took first in the 4×400 relay in 3:44.9. It completely turned around on Thursday at Pelcher-Arcaro Stadium as B’ville’s girls team fell to West Genesee 94-47. Cathleen Green provided a good moment when she won the 100-meter high hurdles in 18.5 seconds and cleared 5 feet to win the high jump. Paige Corso took the 100-meter dash in 13.6 seconds, while Nicole Fecco sped to first place in the 800-meter run (2:26.6) and Erica Miller tossed the shot put 31 feet 6 inches. WG’s Katie Bott led her side with wins in the 200-meter dash (27.0 seconds), 400-meter dash (1:03.0) and 400-meter hurdles (1:10.4). During Saturday’s Jordan-Elbridge Invitational, the girls Bees had Green win the triple jump by going 32 feet 2 1/2 inches and take second in the long jump with 15 feet 5 3/4 inches. B’ville also inished second in the 4×800 relay as Fecco, Jaimee Balloni, Kristina Sprague and Ashley Shaheen put up a time of 9:59.4 that only Skaneateles (9:48.3) could top. Balloni worked on her own to take third place in the 400 in 1:04 flat, while Paige Corso got sixth (28.3 seconds) in the 200-meter dash. Kallie Castetter was fourth in the high jump, clearing 4 feet 10 inches.
