With a pair of wins to its credit, the Baldwinsville boys track and field team grabbed fourth place out a field of 16 during last Saturday’s season-opening Cicero-North Syracuse Relays at Bragman Stadium. On the same oval where the state meet will take place June 12 and 13, the Bees had 50 points, not from host CNS’s winning total of 72 points. Rush-Henrietta (57) and Corning (54) were second and third, respectively. In the mile relay, B’ville prevailed as Adam Pacheck, Shaun Thompson, Nate McCabe and Tim Chambers combined for times of 18:36.52, nearly 14 seconds clear of runner-up Liverpool. Pacheck was fourth (4:35.55) among individuals, with Thompson (4:37.04) in sixth place. The Bees’ other win came in the high jump, where Brian Kane and Sean Bernstein went 1-2 among individuals, each clearing 6 feet 2 inches for a total of 12 feet 4 inches. Bernstein, Rudy Sapp, Todd Mitchell and Parker Kiff combined for second in the 4×100 relay (45.24 seconds), just behind Corning (45.05 seconds). Kane and Kyle McCaleb got third in the triple jump (75 feet 2 1/2 inches), while Matt Getman and Raeshaun Jones were third in the discus, with a combined distance of 233 feet 10 inches.
