As a new season got underway, the Liverpool boys tennis team quickly found out that its singles players were ready to serve. Not dropping a set between them, the Warriors’ trio of Ryan DeAngelis, Dan Salem and Brennan Kirsche keyed a 5-2 victory over West Genesee last Thursday afternoon. Salem was particularly good, sweeping Erik Breault 6-1, 6-1. DeAngelis handled Eric Weller 6-3, 6-1, while Kirsche earned a 6-4, 6-3 decision over Mike Webster. Needing just one point in doubles to beat the Wildcats, Liverpool got two of them. Ian Swenson and Kelly Pare ripped past Andrew Tunguz and Jay Tinklepaugh 6-2, 6-1, while Joe Corcoran and Luke Donigan rallied past Brad Shepard and Mark Plunkett 5-7, 6-2, 6-2. Also in three sets, Stephen Schneider and Ryan Tibbetts lost to Lucas Hendrickson and Shane Haley 2-6, 6-4, 6-4. Victor Beaumont and Chris Brais also fell in two sets.
