To get anywhere in the Section III Class AA playoffs, the West Genesee boys basketball team will need to get past two Syracuse city foes. All game long, the Cougars pushed the tempo — and the Wildcats didn’t mind, matching baskets and inching in front. A strong second quarter allowed WG to take a 35-28 lead to the halftime break. The Wildcats’ strong play continued well into the fourth quarter, when Corcoran made a spirited comeback.
