Two nights after beating Oneida, the Morrisville-Eaton wrestling team faced another Tri-Valley opponent, Camden, and again came out on top, beating the Blue Devils 42-24. M-E saw Dalton Villnave (215 pounds) claim a forfeit before Barney Prince (103 pounds) shut out Natalio McCormic 5-0, and though Camden won the next two matches to go in front 12-9, it would not stay in front for long. Darren Perry, wrestling at 125 pounds, beat Nick Seymore 7-3, while Michael Vreeland (130 pounds) pinned Nick Raut with 14 seconds left in their match. Ethan Morley, moving down to 135 pounds, earned his own pin over Jake Mayden in 4:21 as Cody Frost moved up to 140 and handled Josh Wines 14-4. In the closest match of the night, Joey VanDee won at 152 pounds, holding off Ron Sanganetti 5-4 before Ryan LeBlanc (160 pounds) earned a five-minute technical fall over Chris O’Leary. Alex Meyers, at 189 pounds, brought the meet to a spectacular end when he pinned Tony Sanganetti in just 35 seconds. If the weather held, M-E would compete in Saturday’s Section III Dual Meet at Rome Free Academy, wrestling Sandy Creek in the opening round.
