The Big-Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series kicks off the 2011 season at the Third Annual DIRTcar All-Star Weekend May 29 at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park in Elbridge. Now in his second year as Rolling Wheels Raceway General Manager, Jeff Hachmann is excited to offer an event the entire family can enjoy. “I have learned that the experience must start from the moment the fan walks through the gate to ultimately make it an All-Star Weekend,” Hachmann said. “We have created a festival setting in the midway for all ages to enjoy and a schedule that includes entertainment, driver interaction and on-track drama and excitement.” He said this year’s All-Star Weekend has something for everyone. “[It’s] more than just championship racing by some of the best DIRTcar modified drivers in the country,” he said. All-Star Weekend will feature a live DJ, two bounce houses for kids, food and beverage specials, driver merchandise trailers, two separate autograph sessions featuring the 2011 Hall of Fame inductees and heat race winners during the intermission, and fireworks. A 60-lap Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modified event will be complemented by an all new 25-lap Invitational for the top DIRTcar Big-Block Modified racers on the weekly circuit. Sunday will be kicked off by the annual DIRT Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. “Will Matt Sheppard defend his title? Can Brett Hearn capture his 800th victory and his eighth championship? Will Jimmy Phelps climb to the top of the podium?” asks a press release on www.rollingwheelsraceway.com. “These are only a few of the questions to be answered when the nation’s most prestigious Big-Block Modified tour takes the green flag on May 29.” For tickets go to www.dirtcar.com/tickets or call 834-6606. Tickets are $25, $10 for students ages 10 to 17, and free for kids 9 and under. For more information, go to www.rollingwheelsraceway.com.
