  • THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO HAS EXTENDED THE
    * FLOOD WARNING FOR...
    CENTRAL ERIE COUNTY IN WESTERN NEW YORK...
    THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF...WEST SENECA...LACKAWANNA...
    * UNTIL 1145 AM EST
    * AT 530 AM EST THERE IS STILL A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF ICE ON THE
    BUFFALO AND CAZENOVIA CREEKS. ON BUFFALO CREEK...THE MAIN ICE JAM
    IS FOUND BETWEEN THE NEW YORK STATE THRUWAY AND THE SOUTH OGDEN
    STREET BRIDGE...WITH SITES IMMEDIATELY UPSTREAM HAVING THE
    GREATEST RISK FOR ICE JAM FLOODING. THIS WOULD INCLUDE THE
    LEXINGTON GREEN AREA. ON CAZENOVIA CREEK...THE MAIN ICE JAM IS
    NEAR THE STEVENSON STREET BRIDGE. SITES IMMEDIATELY UPSTREAM FROM
    THIS LOCATION...INCLUDING CAZENOVIA PARK WILL HAVE THE GREATEST
    RISK FOR ICE JAM FLOODING.
    * THOSE IN THE FLOOD WARNING SHOULD REMAIN VIGILANT...SINCE WATER
    LEVELS CAN FLUCTUATE. IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE THAT NEW ICE JAMS WILL
    FORM. RESIDENTS ARE URGED TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS FROM LOCAL
    EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS.
    A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR HAS BEEN REPORTED.
    STREAM RISES WILL BE SLOW AND FLASH FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED.
    HOWEVER...ALL INTERESTED PARTIES SHOULD TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS
    IMMEDIATELY.
