B’ville passes school district budget

Voters have approved the Baldwinsville Central School District’s proposed budget for the 2012-13 school year with 1,224 residents voting in favor and 306 voting against. Residents also passed a separate proposition for the purchase of eight school buses with 1,074 voting in favor and 437 voting against.

Farm Fest: A celebration of farming in Lysander

Lysander is not singular in its identity. This northwestern Onondaga County community draws tourists in from all over the world for recreational activities along the waterfront, as well as for its rich history in milling, architecture and transportation, and its many parks including Lysander and Mercer parks, Beaver Lake Nature Center and Three Rivers Wildlife Management. Oh, and let’s not forget the vast agricultural community.

While he gave me an update on the Village Square project (sidewalks should be in within the month then topsoil and seed will be spread) and this weekend’s Carp Tournament (Joe will participate as a local celebrity), the breaking news was the village receiving a $492,000 Save the Rain grant.
