Parker Hysick and his sister, Madison, dance during Thursday night’s Hoops for the Hospital fund-raiser boys basketball game at the Baker High School gym. Parker, the son of Baldwinsville 7/8 coach Ron Hysick, is in remission after a battle with leukemia, and the game, dedicated in his honor, raised more than $3,000 for Golisano Children’s Hospital.

While the Baldwinsville boys basketball team took an 81-70 home defeat to West Genesee Thursday night at the Baker High School gym, the game result was far from the most important aspect of this event.
