Bruce Richmond, 62, of Cazenovia, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. He was born on June 16, 1952, the son of the late James and Olive Richmond. Bruce attained a BSEE from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a master’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He served for six years in the U.S. Navy as a reactor operator aboard the nuclear submarine, USS Jack.
Bruce was employed for many years by General Electric Co. in Utica where he worked in research and development. He was also employed as program manager by Corning Inc. and Sensis Corp. Bruce was a member and past president of the Oriskany Falls Rotary Club; a member of the New Hartford Rotary Club; a dispatcher for the Cazenovia Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps; and a member of the National Volunteer Dog Rescue and Transport.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen “Kathy;” his son, Charles Edward Richmond (Jesikah) of Houston, TX; stepchildren, Glynn Bebee (Dawn Eller) of Ithaca, and Karen Lavier of Holland Patent; and eight grandchildren.
