Shirley M. Ginnelly, 91, of North Syracuse, passed away Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at her home. She was a native and life resident of the area. She was a graduate of St. Vincent de Paul High School and Comptometry School. Shirley was employed with the Internal Revenue Service for eight years and was a "Grey Lady" volunteer at Saint Joseph's Hospital.
She was a communicant of Saint Rose of Lima Church. Her husband of 59 years, John E. died November 11th 2005. She was also predeceased by her parents Melissa and Thomas Reilly, two brothers Thomas "Tucker" and Michael, two sisters Patricia Scheider and Margaret "Mardy" Reilly.
Surviving are her two daughters, Mary Deborah (Ron) Carr of North Syracuse and Melissa E. (Bill) Griffith of Mooresville, NC; a son Timothy B. (Debra) of Liverpool; five grandchildren, Brian Bender, Jill Smith, Bill Griffith, Kimberly Griffith, and Michael Griffith; and seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services: 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Fergerson Funeral Home and mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Saint Rose of Lima Church, with burial following in the Liverpool Village Cemetery. Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the funeral home, 215 South Main Street, North Syracuse.
