Carmelo J. "Carl" Misita, 78, formerly of North Syracuse, passed away Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, in Raleigh NC. Carl moved to Raleigh in 2010, the state of his beloved Nascar driver, Richard Petty.
Carl began his working career at Loblaws, retired as a computer programmer in 1993 from General Electric after 39 years and retired again from Adessa Auto Auction in 2010 after 15 years of service.
He was a member of Raleigh First Assembly of God Church and had been a member of the Church of the Resurrection in East Syracuse.
Carl was predeceased by his parents, Dominick and Josephine Sgarlata Misita; a sister, Joanne Thornhill and by his wife of 39 years, the former Ruth H. Angell on March 10, 1998.
Surviving are his children, Merri Ellen (Robert) Gamble, Carl M. (Laura) Misita, Robert J. Misita and John F. (Terri) Misita; a brother, Richard (Jeanne) Misita; a granddaughter, Nicole Misita; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousin and a large group of dear friends.
Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at Fergerson Funeral Home, 215 South Main St., North Syracuse, with burial following at Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay.
