David A. Bennett, 66, of Cazenovia, died unexpectedly Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at his residence.
A 40-year resident of the Syracuse area, he was dedicated to the communities of LaFayette, Cazenovia and Labrador Mountain. He was a vice president and certified financial planner with Morgan Stanley for 30 years. His pride was in the planning and protection of growth for families and their future. An avid skier and cyclist, he had a love for the outdoors and the fellowship of those he enjoyed it with.
David was a graduate of Johns Hopkins and received his master’s degree from Syracuse University. He served as a captain in the U.S. Army and was a lifelong intellectual engaged with the pursuit of peace and justice in the world. Nothing was more important to him than the family he raised to great heights and loved even greater.
Survived by his loving wife Barbara, son Drew, daughter Lauren and mother Dorothy Bennett.
Memorial service to celebrate David’s life will be announced at a future date at the convenience of the family.
