Victor F. Fontanella

Victor F. Fontanella, 89, of Skaneateles, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Upstate Community Hospital on Sept. 7, 2013. Born in Pennsylvania, Vic moved to Skaneateles in 1957. He was a Veteran of WWII. He spend his career at Monroe Business Machines in NYC and then Syracuse, N.Y. Vic always had a smile and a helping hand to all. His entertaining personality and quick wit made him special to everyone.
As a lover of cars, in his early years he could be seen driving around Skaneateles and in parades in his 1931 Model A Ford. Later in life, his pride and joy vehicle was his El Camino. He was also known for his crafty woodworking skills and ability to fix almost anything.
He is survived by his wife, Millie, of 65 years and his daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Lance Burghardt of Skaneateles, and his daughter, Lorraine Bates of Northbridge, M.A. He is also survived by his sister, Lena Potter of Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
