Mary J. (McCredie) Conlon, 92, of Fairmount passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at home. Born in Plainfiled, Vt., she was raised in Albany and moved to Fairmount with her husband in 1956. She retired from Mutual of New York. Mary was a Communicant of Holy Family Church for 57 years. An avid bridge player, she loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband F. Shepard “Shep” Conlon of 42 years and a granddaughter Nora L. Mazza.
Mary is survived by her four children, Timothy (Phyllis) Conlon, Patricia (Peter) Zeleznock, Lorraine ( Nick) Mazza, and Lyn (Bill) Burt., twelve grandchildren, Joseph, Frank, Julie, and Jennifer Conlon; Tom, David (Anne) and Jeremy Zeleznock, Peggy and Jack Mazza, Katie, James and Emily Burt, two great-grandchildren Ryan and Timmy Zeleznock, one brother Joseph McCredie of Raleigh, NC., and several nieces and nephews. Also, lifelong friends Peggy and Richard Schmidt.
Mass of Christian burial: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, in Holy Family Church with Burial in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10 at Whelan Bros. & Hulchanski Funeral Home.
