Walter J. Doshna, 59, of Marcellus, passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 at home. Born in Yonkers, he was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area and graduate of Jamesville Dewitt High School.
Walter owned Walt's Automotive Service in Syracuse for 28 years and previously worked for Mac Tools. He enjoyed working on cars and was an avid collector of classic cars. He loved spending time with his family.
Walter was predeceased by his brother, Frank Prokop.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, the former Barbara Babson; sons, CJ (Nicole), Nick (Christina) and Rob (Katie), all of Marcellus; brothers, Al Doshna and Don Prokop, both of DeWitt; and grandchildren, Christopher, Charlie, Olivia, Jack, Logan, Juliana, Amelia and Abigail.
Relatives and friends called Friday, October 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Services were at 8 a.m. Saturday, October 26 at the funeral home and at 9 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church where a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated with Rev. Jon K. Werner and Rev. Msgr. James A. McCloskey officiating. Walter was laid to rest in Howlett Hill Cemetery.
