Frederick E. “Fred” Peisel, 70, of Minoa, passed away Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at University Hospital. Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Herbert and Gertrude Peisel. Fred graduated from Syracuse University in 1965 and retired in 2011 from Syracuse Research Corporation after 46 years. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Minoa. Fred was a member of the American Contract Bridge League and former president of the Syracuse Contract Bridge Club, achieving the status of Life Master. He was an avid bowler, loved the outdoors and especially his camp in the Adirondacks.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rita Czerwinski Peisel; daughter, Lisa Stevens of Minoa; son, Eric Peisel of Severna Park, MD; grandchildren, Jordan Cooper, Sadie Peisel, Mason Peisel and Amber Stevens; great-grandchildren, Dreavyn Cooper and Anthony Young; sisters and brothers-in-law, Roberta & Vincent Massara, Jean Bauer and Margaret & Gary Quackenbush; nieces and nephews and a cousin.
Service were held at R.H. Schepp & Son Minoa Chapel and at St. Mary’s Church, Minoa. Burial was in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours were held at the funeral home, 6530 Schepp’s Corners Rd.
