Raymond Garcia, 53, of Syracuse, died Thursday, Nov 21, 2013, at his home. Raymond was born in Manhattan, N.Y., and was a 1977 graduate of Corcoran High School.
Raymond worked for several years at Crucible Steel in Solvay as a mechanical engineer. Prior to that, he worked at B.G. Sulzle in North Syracuse. He was a handyman and was well known for being able to fix anything. Raymond was an avid Yankees and Jets fan and loved to frequent the flea markets on Sundays.
He was predeceased by his father, Rafael and by two brothers, Carmello and Carlos.
Surviving are his wife of 13 years, the former Joyce (DePasquale); four sons: Raymond "Tito" (Myra) of NYC, NY, Joseph (Erica) of Syracuse, NY, Derrick of NC, and Raymundo (Marie) of Syracuse; his mother, Ana (Jose) Corajo; a sister: Ana Donath; two step children, Samantha and Robert Cavelli of Liverpool; eleven grandchildren: Tyler, Joseph, Noah, Jared, Alyssa, Max, Brayden, Ryan, Priscilla, Sammie, and Cassy; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Calling hours: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale, NY. Funeral services: 1 p.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in Loomis Hill Cemetery.
