Margaret A. “Peg” Froio Young, 72, of Minoa, died on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was born in Syracuse on March 11, 1941. She graduated from Convent High School and SUNY Oswego, class of 1963.
Peg was a teacher at Lakeshore Elementary School and later a substitute teacher at Minoa Elementary School. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Minoa. Peg was an assistant Girl Scout troop leader, a member of the ESM Band Boosters for 11 years and a volunteer at Heaven’s Pantry.
She is survived by a son, Daniel (Monica Howe) of Minoa; daughters, Dianne (James) LaPlaine of Leesburg, VA and Denise (Michael) Banks of Ballincollig, Ireland; 8 grandchildren, Allison, Morgan, Molly, Ruairi, Brieann, Kailee, Krista and Olivia. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, William J. Young, on September 20, 2013.
Services: 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, from R.H. Schepp & Son Minoa Chapel and 10:00 am in St. Mary’s Church, 401 N. Main St., Minoa. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours: 4-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at the funeral home, 6530 Schepp’s Corners Road (corner of Kirkville Road).
