N. Richard Hueber

N. Richard Hueber, of Hamilton, NJ, died Oct. 31, 2013, after a brief illness. Mr. Hueber was born Oct. 29, 1932, in Syracuse, the son of Noel and Mildred Hueber. He was a graduate of Phillips Andover Academy and Princeton University and then served as a lieutenant in the Marine Corps.
After leaving the service he earned a master’s degree in business at the University of Virginia. Work at Young and Rubicam, the advertising agency in New York City, followed. In 1963 Mr. Hueber returned to Syracuse, where he led his own businesses and was involved in several organizations and clubs. Summers were spent at the family cottage, Trail’s End, on Skaneateles Lake.
Richard “Dick” Hueber moved to New Jersey in 1991 where he became an avid runner, participating in many races and socializing with the running community. He worked for the Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic until his retirement in 1997 and was also very active in many projects and activities at Princeton University.
Surviving are his wife, Rita Alles; three children, Philip Hueber of Chesterfield, NH, Peter Hueber of Exton, Pa, and Sara Hueber Collins of Skaneateles; six grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Swinchatt of Cheshire, Connecticut; two nieces; and several cousins.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at Princeton University Chapel with a reception following at Campus Club, 5 Prospect Ave. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic, 20 Rozel Road, Princeton, New Jersey, 08540.
