Evelyn Irene Blansett was born June 16, 1922, in Brockville, Ontario, Canada.
At one of her first jobs, Evelyn mustered up the courage to ask her employer for a small raise. His response, “Evelyn, you will get your reward in Heaven.” On Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, she left us to collect on that promise.
She was predeceased by her sister, Jeanne Lucille Parslow; her brother, Sgt James Albert Parslow; her parents, Clifford MacKenzie Parslow and Alberta Maude (Law) Parslow, and her beloved Tally. Surviving are her son, Richard F. (Juliann) Blansett, Jr.; grandson, Christopher J. (Jennifer) Blansett and great granddaughter Alexys; and granddaughter, Kimberly M. (Will) Hamblet and great grandson, Mikey.
Evelyn was a graduate of Watertown High School and Watertown Business School. She spent most of her life in Watertown, retiring as a stock clerk from Harroun Lumber Corporation. For many years she was secretary/treasurer of the Arcade Market & Bakery Inc. For her entire life, she was the caregiver for her family.
There will be no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Brookside Cemetery in Watertown. The family expresses deep appreciation to the caring and compassionate staff of Elderwood at Liverpool. Arrangements are under the guidance of Maurer Funeral Home, Liverpool.
