Glynn J. Kirchner (Foran), of Brockport, N.Y., passed away peacefully at home Sunday, May 12, 2013, with his family at his side. He was born May 5, 1930, the son of the late William and Elizabeth Cornelly Kirchner. Glynn served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, the U.S. Army Reserve and New York State Guard. He worked for the Rochester Carpenters Union for 64 years. He participated in the Empire and New York State Games, U.S. Masters Swimming and Monroe County Senior Games; receiving two gold, nine silver and 11 bronze medals.
He is survived by daughters, Kathleen Boetcher (Tom) Ragonese, Karen (Kevin) Foran of Manlius, Amy Kirchner (Patrick Brown), and Susan (Steven) Weiner; mother of his children, Sue C. Kirchner (Gibney); 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many close and true friends, who were guiding lights on a spiritual path.
Services were held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Holley, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons Street, P.O.B. 7, East Syracuse, N.Y 13057.
