Mildred Newton Thomas, 90, of the James Square Health and Rehabilitation Center passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013.
Born in Syracuse, she resided most of her life in Liverpool. She was a 1940 graduate of Liverpool High School. Mildred retired in 1986 from the Onondaga County Clerk’s Office, as supervisor of the miscellaneous records department. A member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Liverpool, she sang in the church choir there for over 50 years. She was a member of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Surviving are a daughter, Lynn (Ray) Taylor of Liverpool, son, Barry N. Thomas of Syracuse, 3 grandchildren, Jeremy Botsford, Jodi Botsford and Jenni Botsford, 4 step-grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, brother, Kenneth (Ruth) Newton of Rochester, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services: 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at the Maurer Funeral Home, 300 Second St., Liverpool. Calling hours precede the funeral service from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
