Richard R. Sinn, Jr., 76, North Calibogue Cay and Thousand Island Park, formerly of Cazenovia, died Saturday, April 27, 2013, in Peregrine’s Landing, Clinton, Ct.
Born in Albany, on June 19, 1936, he was the son of Richard R. and Helen Slocum Sinn, Sr. A longtime resident of the Cazenovia area, Dick was a graduate of Syracuse University. He married Janet Fearon on February 28, 1970 in Waitsfield, Vermont. Mrs. Sinn died May 17, 2010.
Prior to retirement, Mr. Sinn was vice-president of Syracuse Suburban Gas. He was a member of the Cazenovia First Presbyterian Church and a member of the American Gas Association. Dick enjoyed skiing, competitive sailing, golfing, tennis, gardening and trips to the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton.
Surviving are; one daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Andrew Howard of Madison Connecticut; three sons and daughters-in-law, Carver “Chip” and Jackie Sinn of Arlington, Virginia and Charles “Chad” and Lori Sinn of Dallas, Texas and Thomas “Tad” and Christina Helmer of Manlius; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Joan Sinn of Piney Flats, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his dog Millie.
Funeral services: 11 a.m. Thursday, May 2, from the First Presbyterian Church of Cazenovia with the Reverend Dr. Steven R. Thomas, Jr., officiating Interment is in Glenwood Cemetery, Oneida.
